
Sussex Cricket Announce Signing of Ari Karvelas on Permanent Deal
The 28-year-old Greek international impressed having joined on a short-term deal in August, helping Sussex on their way to the Royal London Cup semi-final.
Ari made is first-team debut at Lord's in the LV= Insurance County Championship against Middlesex, taking 2-72 from his 23.5 overs as Sussex secured a draw at the Home of Cricket.
His impact on the side continued into the 50-over format of the game as he finished as our top wicket-taker in the Royal London Cup with 20 wickets, at an economy of 5.40.
Ari’s best figures in the competition came after a devastating spell which saw him finish on 4-21 against the Leicestershire Foxes at The 1st Central County Ground.
Speaking on signing permanently, Ari said: “It is a great honour to sign this contract. I’m really looking forward to continuing my journey with Sussex and am excited to see what the future holds.
“I’m grateful for the continued support from the players, coaches, staff and supporters.”
