Suzie Bates Speaks Ahead of WBBL|05

The Adelaide Strikers have assembled in Adelaide and will begin training together in home facilities on Monday, ahead of rebel WBBL|05.

New Zealand international Suzie Bates will once again captain the Strikers, in what will be the first standalone WBBL tournament, taking place throughout October and November.

Most of the side gathered in Melbourne last week for a training camp, winning two practice matches against the ICC Global Development squad.

West Indies captain and new Strikers recruit Stafanie Taylor (Sydney Thunder) will join the squad on Tuesday ahead of her first two games before departing for international duties, while England player Lauren Winfield (Brisbane Heat/Hobart Hurricanes) will replace Taylor the following week.

Australian quick Megan Schutt has now joined up with the team following a successful series against Sri Lanka, while new Strikers Katie Mack (Melbourne Stars) Annie O'Neil and Darcie Brown are settling in well.

The Strikers begin their WBBL campaign at Karen Rolton Oval on 19 and 20 October. Entry to all WBBL matches in South Australia is free.
