It all came down to the final over…..
The Sixers needed 16 runs from just 6 deliveries, at the death - Tom Curran had scampered a single to keep the strike at the end of the 19th over and hit the first ball of Chris Tremain’s final over for six, the second was a dot ball, 2 runs came off the third, 2 runs off the fourth ball…. 6 runs from 2 balls required…. Curran hit a boundary 4 off the fifth ball … 2 runs to win off the last ball…. Curran is run out taking the second run to win… scores level… Super Over…
Now the Super Over… Chris Morris bowled the over for Sydney Thunder getting Tom Curran out first ball and then the Sixers managed to total 16-1 with Moises Henriques scoring a remarkable 14
Sydney Thunder required 17 to win off their Super Over – Tom Curran bowled the Super Over for the Sixers and Usman Khawaja and Alex Hales were the batsmen – only 4 runs were scored off the first 3 deliveries leaving 13 runs to win from 3 balls…. Single taken …. Alex Hales needs to hit 2 sixes to win for Thunder…. SIX… one ball to go six to win…. Four….. Sixers win Super Over by 1 run
