The Sydney Sixers have named a 13-player squad ahead of their Saturday afternoon epic up against last season’s champions, the Perth Scorchers.

The Sixers make the trip west sitting atop the Weber WBBL|08 table, following a crucial win over crosstown rivals, the Sydney Thunder, on Wednesday night.

Vice-captain Ash Gardner continued her stellar form with both bat and ball, producing 53 (from 37), before picking up 3-22 at North Sydney Oval.

Dynamic duo, Maitlan Brown (29*) and Nicole Bolton (28) combined for an outstanding 56-run partnership, helping to steer the total to 6-163 at the close of 20 overs.

Lauren Cheatle starred with ball in hand, collecting 3-21 from her four overs, including the vital wickets of Tammy Beaumont, Sammy-Jo Johnson and Rachael Haynes.

Tickets to Weber WBBL|08 and KFC BBL|12 are on sale NOW via Ticketek.

Landing in Perth on Friday afternoon, Sixers Head Coach Charlotte Edwards said:

“It’s really pleasing to see the group getting reward for effort at the moment, and we know it’s so important to continue to carry that momentum forward. Things can change quickly in this competition, so our focus remains on the next game ahead.”

“Our goal this season (aside from winning matches) has been to play an entertaining brand of cricket, and I think we’re doing that at the moment.”

“We hope that when our fans turn on the TV or come to a game, they know they can expect an exciting contest."

Saturday afternoon’s clash is set to begin at 4.25pm AEDT (1.25pm local) and will be broadcast live on Fox Cricket, Kayo, cricket.com.au and ABC Radio.
