A tight match unfolded at Adelaide Oval today, with the Sydney Sixers defeating the Adelaide Strikers by just eight runs.

The Sixers won the toss and elected to bat first, with the Strikers bowling attack keeping them to just 147 after their monstrous 206-run innings on Friday at Hurstville.

Sophie Devine, again donning her bright blue headband, took figures of 2/25, while Amanda-Jade Wellington's 2/19 off four overs was instrumental in keeping the Sixers under the 150-run mark.

In reply, Suzie Bates starred with the bat compiling 60 runs, but the skipper lost her wicket in the 17th over.

Tahlia McGrath executed an entertaining knock of 45 off 26 balls, which included five fours and three sixes, before she was caught by Marizanne Kapp at cover.

Once McGrath was dismissed, Tegan McPharlin (5), Megan Schutt (10) and Sarah Coyte (duck) all fell cheaply, and the Strikers fell nine runs short of their target.

The Strikers will next take on the Brisbane Heat on Saturday from 6:45pm ACDT in Mackay, with the game to be live-streamed on cricket.com.au and on the CA Live app.
