Australia Women 241-7 (Lanning 95) beat
West Indies Women 240-8 by three wickets
First One-Day International, Hurstville Oval, Sydney

Stafanie Taylor scored 95 and took two for 45 but ended up on the losing side as Australia Women won the first One-Day International against the West Indies Women by three wickets in Sydney.

After the West Indies posted 240 for eight batting first, Australia captain Meg Lanning also scored 95 as Australia reached their target with just three balls to spare.

Hayley Matthews marked her ODI debut by scoring 55 for the West Indies, adding 74 with Taylor before Australia hit back through Erin Osborne (3-43) and Kristen Beams (2-32).

Half-centuries from Nicole Bolton (59), Ellyse Perry (53) and Lanning then put Australia on course for victory with Perry and Lanning sharing a 105-run stand.

Taylor, Anisa Mohammed and Shanel Daley all took two wickets for the tourists.

The second of four ODIs is on Thursday (13th November).
