Teddington Cricket Club is one of London's premier cricket clubs, competing in all the major club cricket competitions, but also offering cricket for all levels of ability and commitment.

The club is fortunate to be based in the glorious setting of Bushy Park, formerly Henry VIII's hunting ground, and the deer that wander around the ground are much less timid these days!

It is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, in the locality. Unfortunately, as with so many other old institutions, records of its early days were not considered to be of much value at the time and were not preserved with the care the present generation of members would have wished.

The beginnings of the Club are shrouded in mystery and it seems to have had several false starts. Frankly we do not know when it was founded, but we do know that it is old.

The beginnings of the Club are shrouded in mystery and it seems to have had several false starts.

Frankly we do not know when it was founded, but we do know that it is old. Tradition had it that it dated from 1833, but recently it has been discovered that a match was played against Hampton Court in August 1827 and the Club is probably a year or two older.

The club now runs four senior XIs on a Saturday, with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd XIs competing in the Middlesex County Cricket League, and the 4th XI in the 1987 Cricket League.

The 1st XI also enters the ECB National Club Championship, The Conference Cup and Middlesex Cup, played on Sundays, as well as the Cockspur Rum Club Twenty20.

We also run a Club XI on Sundays to provide decent cricket in a less competitive environment, and to enable our colts to make the transition to adult cricket. This team also competes in the Bushy Park League, a competition between the 5 clubs based in Bushy Park.

The club has been very successful over the last 30 years, winning two National Club Championships, three Evening Standard Challenge Trophies, six Middlesex League Championships, five Middlesex Cups, four 2nd XI League Titles, a 3rd XI League Title, and four Bushy Park League Titles.

The colts section is one of the largest in the country. We offer coaching and cricket from the age of 6 up to 17, at which point, junior members hopefully move on to the senior teams. We provide high quality coaching in a well structured and welcoming environment. We have cricket for players of all abilities and experiences from new beginners to elite performers.

The clubhouse is now over 40 years old, but provides changing facilities with recently renovated showers, as well as the newly decorated bar. The bar is competitively priced, with various special offers, and offers a place to relax with a drink, watch the cricket outside, sport on TV or peruse the recently installed sports library.
