Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera and Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc have been sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for their behaviour during the second One-Day International in Colombo.

Perera was handed a 15 percent fine of his match fee for the send-off he gave to Australia’s David Warner after dismissing him in the second over of the innings.

The ICC found Perera to be guilty of breaching the article 2.1.7 of the Code of Conduct and the fine was handed by the match referee Javagal Srinath.

Meanwhile, Starc was handed an official reprimand by Srinath for throwing the ball in the direction of Dinesh Chandimal despite the batsman not attempting a run.

Since both Starc and Perera accepted the sanctions handed by the match referee, there was no necessity to conduct formal hearings.

Sri Lanka won the second ODI in Colombo by 82 runs after bowling out Australia for 206 runs and levelled the series 1-1 with three matches to go.
