There were a lot of similarities in the way things panned out for both teams. The openers of both Chepauk Super Gillies and TUTI Patriots were dismissed for golden ducks on the first legal delivery of their respective innings. One opener from both teams scored a half-century and multiple bowlers on both sides were among wickets.

Chepauk Super Gillies started off with a wicket on the very first ball. Gopinath then scored a half-century. With some assistance from Kaushik Gandhi and Uthirasamy Sasidev, he tried to steady the innings.

However, there were no contributions whatsoever from the middle order and the lower middle order. Karthik Shanmugam was the pick of the bowlers for TUTI Patriots and picked up three wickets, while S Boopalan, Tamil Kumaran and V Athisayaraj Davidson took two each.

After losing Akash Sivan on the first ball of the inning, Akshay Srinivasan scored a half-century for TUTI Patriots. However, there were three ducks and two ones in the batting scorecard.
