They hold their nerves and close out a hard fought encounter against the Dragons, who will have another chance on Tuesday! #NammaPasangaNammaGethu pic.twitter.com/INrLOl4lt9
The fact that Dindigul Dragons and Chepauk Chepauk Super Gillies had the option of fighting it out in Qualifier 2 if things did not go in their favour in Qualifier 1 gave both the teams a cushion going into this match. Probably this was the cushion that led to the complacency of which Dindigul Dragons paid the price.
Chepauk Super Gillies' inning started well with them stitching a 63-run opening stand between Ganga Sridhar Raju and Gopinath. After Gopinath was dismissed, Raju continued to score runs at a quick clip and was finally dismissed by M Silambarasan for 81.
Contributions from Uthirasamy Sasidev and Murugan Ashwin took the team to 169, which was a slightly above par total given the big match.

Hari Nishanth was the most impressive bowler for Dindigul Dragons. He returned to have a 64-run partnership with N Jagadeesan as Dragons looked well on their way of chasing the target. However, some good bowling from G Periyaswamy in the middle overs pulled them back.
Ultimately, the Dragons required 21 off the last over, which was too much for them to get. Harish Kumar slammed sixes off the last two balls of the match but it was too late by then as Chepauk Super Gillies moved to the final with a five-run win.
