It was never really a 170-180 wicket in Dindigul. With the surface being quite damp, a score of 150 would have been competitive but with the onslaught from Chaturved and Mohammed, the score was really pushed out of Madurai Panthers' reach, which was then closed admirably by the Dragons' bowlers.

Match Summary

Dindigul Dragons 175-6

Madurai Panthers 130-All Out

Dindigul Dragons won by 45 runs

Batting first, Dindigul Dragons openers Hari Nishanth and N Jagadeesan gave them a solid start, with both scoring half-centuries. But, both were going at just around run a ball and it seemed as if Dindigul Dragons would end somewhere around 140-150.

The real game-changer was the finishers NS Chaturved and M Mohammed, both of whom scored 30s at mind-boggling strike rates to stretch Dragons' score. While Chaturved scored 35 off 13 deliveries at a strike rate of almost 270, Mohammed was even more explosive with 32 runs off just nine balls at a strike rate of 355.

In the second inning, the Dragons spinners Mohan Abhinav, M Silambarasan and Adithya Arun put a squeeze on the Madurai Panthers batting line up. A Sarath Raj started well for Madurai but the team lost wickets too often to change such a big total.

Even when a 40 came from Jagatheesan Kousik, it was at a strike rate of 125 which would never be enough to reach 176.
