Madurai Panthers started their innings on a decent note with the openers adding 21. However, wickets started falling one after the other so much so that they kept getting reduced to 25-2, 36-3, 40-4, 52-5 and so on. At last, they were bowled out for just 93 runs from their stipulated overs.
For Madurai Panthers, Rahil Shah was the star bowler and picked up three wickets while conceding just 13 runs. Kiran Akash also picked up three wickets while giving 23 runs, while Selva Kumaran picked two wickets and gave away 17 runs from his four overs.
In reply, the Madurai Panthers' chase did not start well either with opener Arun Karthik departing on the very second ball of the match. There was then a partnership between Sarath Raj and skipper Shijit Chandran.
