Match Summary

Ruby Trichy Warriors 142-6

Madurai Panthers 142-6

Madurai Panthers won in super over

Murali Vijay reinstated how big players with a winning mentality can have an impact on the overall scheme of things as he opened the inning for Ruby Trichy Warriors, along with K Mukunth, and went on to have a 98-run opening partnership.

Vijay remained unbeaten on 78 from 66 deliveries but did not get enough support from other players. Mani Bharathi was the only other batsman to chip in, with a 12-ball 31 in an inning that included four ducks.

The Warriors could only score 142 in the 20 overs, due to the bowling heroics of Kiran Akash and Rahil Shah.

For Madurai Panthers, Arun Karthik started well with 46. Other than him, only Jagatheesan Kaushik scored 35 and remained unbeaten till the last ball. With one required off the last delivery, Madurai Panthers could not manage that and the game went into a super over.

After Arun Karthik was dismissed off the very first ball, Abhishek Tanwar struck two back to back sixes for Madurai Panthers.

Chasing 13, Murali Vijay was dismissed on the second ball of the super over and the Ruby Trichy Warriors could not find the boundary on the remaining four deliveries, conceding yet another defeat in a super over.
