England have called up uncapped Surrey fast bowler Tom Curran as a replacement for Steven Finn in their Ashes squad for the upcoming five match Test series against Australia.

Middlesex seamer Finn was ruled out of the series after he sustained a knee injury during a training session and will head back to the United Kingdom for undergoing a surgery.

Curran has already played three Twenty20 Internationals and a solitary One-Day International for England but is yet to make his debut in the longer format.

The 22-year-old, who recently signed a new deal with the English county club Surrey picked 24 wickets from nine games in the previous season and has also featured for England Lions.

A statement released by the England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed that Curran will head to Adelaide on Wednesday to join the rest of the squad.

England are set to play two warm-up games against Cricket Australia XI in Adelaide and Townsville before the first Test that kicks-off in Brisbane on 23rd November.
