Tom Wesley scored an unbeaten century for England Lions as the tour game against South Africa ended in a draw after the hosts declared their first innings at 266 for four in Worcester on the final day.
South Africa declared their first innings with the overnight score of 382 for four.
England Lions had a solid start of 71 runs that came from Sam Robson (47) and Keaton Jennings (39). Morne Morkel (1-49) and Chris Morris (1-35) provided the breakthroughs with the wickets of Jennings and Robson respectively.
However, Westley (106 not out) and Ballance (56) resurrected the innings with a 136 run stand for the third wicket before Theunis de Bruyn's (2-24) double strike removed the latter and Sam Billings (2) in quick succession.
Despite the fall of wicket, Westley remained calm and ensured he completed the three figure mark and ensured the game ended in a draw after Lions went on to post 266 for four.
The first Test between England and South Africa will kick off on 6th July at Lord's with Jennings and Ballance managing to feature in the 12-man squad.
