Sri Lanka have called upon the middle-order batsman Angelo Perera to replace the injured fast bowler Nuwan Pradeep for the ongoing One-Day International series against Australia.

Sri Lanka have named their 30-man provisional squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 which takes place in England and Wales in June. Shehan Jayasuriya, Ishan Jayaratne, Angelo Perera and Milinda Siriwardene are the four uncapped players in the squad while a number of experienced players have earned recalls.

Sri Lanka have called up uncapped batsmen Kithururan Vithanage and all-rounders Angelo Perera and Sachith Pathirana for the first two games in the One-Day International series against Bangladesh. Vithanage played in both Tests but is yet to play an ODI and the squad shows a number of other changes from the team that took on Australia.

Despite a valiant 65 from opener Gautam Gambhir, India could muster only 138 after electing to bat against Sri Lanka in the second One-Day International in Hambantota. Thisara Perera and Angelo Mathews blew the upper and middle-order away and took three wickets each, while Tillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga then had no problem knocking off the required runs.

Sri Lanka have selected all-rounders Thisara Perera, Jeevan Mendis and Nuwan Kulasekara in their 15-man squad for the first Test against Pakistan, which begins in Galle on Friday. Angelo Mathews has also replaced Thilan Samaraweera as vice-captain, while opening batsman Lahiru Thirimanne has missed out, with Tharanga Paranavitana set to replace him at the top of the order.

Chamara Silva hit a fluent century and there were half-centuries for Thilina Kandamby and Angelo Perera as England were made to work hard on the opening day of their tour game against a Sri Lanka Development XI in Colombo. The home side closed on 376 for five having taken control after two early wickets had given England the early initiative.

Batsman Chamara Kapugedara has been added to Sri Lanka's squad ahead of the best-of-three Commonwealth Bank series final contest against Australia. Kapugedara has been called up to cover for injuries for all-rounders Angelo Mathews and Tissara Perera and despite their injuries, both players are included in Sri Lanka's 14-man Asia Cup squad.
