West Indies Name Squad To Take On India

The West Indies Women will play Indian Women in a series of eight internationals between 18th February and 4th March. Merissa Aguillera and Stafanie Taylor have been retained as captain and vice-captain for the three One-Day Internationals and five Twenty20 Internationals.

West Indies Win World Cup Qualifier

West Indies were crowned as champions of the ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier 2011, after defeating Pakistan by 130 runs. By virtue of winning the tournament, West Indies has risen in the Reliance ICC Women’s ODI Team Rankings - West Indies now sits fifth in the world while Pakistan has risen from eighth to now occupy sixth place. ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year, West Indies' Stafanie Taylor was named Player of the Tournament. Taylor was the highest run-scorer in the tournament after the 20-year-old from Jamaica amassed 325 runs at an average of 81.25, she also claimed 10 wickets at an average of 9.30.

Women's World Cup Qualifier Gets Underway

Taylor And Mohammed Seal ODI Victory

Starring performances from Stafanie Taylor with the bat and Anisa Mohammed with the ball handed the West Indies Women a nine-wicket win over India Women in the opening One-Day International in Mumbai. Batting first, India were shot out for 161 as Mohammed returned four for 27 before Taylor's unbeaten 85 saw the West Indies over the finishing line with more than 13 overs to spare.

Six West Indies Women Earn Retainer Contracts

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has awarded six of its leading women cricketers retainer contracts for the year-long period from October 2010 to September 2010. They are Stafanie Taylor, Deandra Dottin, Merissa Aguillera, Anisa Mohammed, Stacy Ann King and Shanel Daley. Taylor and Dottin are on Grade A contracts while the other four players are on Grade B contracts.
