Kolkata Knight Riders' Indian Premier League title defence is officially over after they were beaten by Pune Warriors by the margin of seven runs in Ranchi. A half-century from Manish Pandey helped Pune post 170 for four and after Yusuf Pathan became the first man in the IPL to be given out obstructing the field, Kolkata closed on 163 for seven in reply.

IPL 2012: Kolkata Beat Delhi To Reach The Final

Kolkata Knight Riders booked their place in the Indian Premier League 2012 final as they produced a strong performance to beat Delhi Daredevils by 18 runs in the qualifier in Pune. Yusuf Pathan's late blast of 40 not out helped them accelerate to a score of 162 for four and Delhi closed on 144 for eight in reply, unable to pick up the pace when it was required.

Kohli Promoted To Vice-Captain For Asia Cup Defence

India have promoted Virat Kohli to vice-captain and recalled all-rounder Yusuf Pathan and seamer Ashok Dinda for their Asia Cup defence. The tournament gets underway next month in Bangladesh. The men making way are Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan, Parthiv Patel and Umesh Yadav, with chairman of selectors Kris Srikkanth keen to stress that Sehwag had not been dropped following his poor form in the Commonwealth Bank Series.

India have named an unchanged squad for the remaining three One-Day Internationals against England while also calling up Robin Uthappa and Yusuf Pathan for the Twenty20 International that follows. India have surged into a 2-0 series lead with comprehensive 126-run and eight-wicket victories in Hyderabad and Delhi and will be aiming for more of the same.

Ferguson Stars For South Australia

South Australia recorded their first win of the Champions League and condemned Kolkata Knight Riders to bottom of Group B following a 19-run triumph in Hyderabad. Dan Christian (42 from 27) and Callum Ferguson played the defining partnership of the match, as the pair put on 74 for the fourth wicket from only 44 balls, including taking 20 from Yusuf Pathan's final over, as the Redbacks eventually closed on 188 for five with Ferguson ending on 70 not out from 40 balls.

The Kolkata Knight Riders hit the top of the Indian Premier League 2011 table with a 20-run victory over the Deccan Chargers in Hyderabad. Yusuf Pathan benefited from being dropped three times on his way to 47 not out to help the Knight Riders post a score of 169 for four before the Deccan Chargers closed on 149 for six in reply.

South Africa Clinch Series Despite Pathan Brilliance

India's Yusuf Pathan hammered 105 in 70 balls but his belligerent innings was in vain as South Africa won the decisive fifth One-Day International by 33 runs at Centurion Park. Hashim Amla's less aggressive, but no less impressive 116 had enabled South Africa to post 250 for nine from 46 overs and India were then bowled out for 234 in 40.2 overs as South Africa took the series 3-2.

Yusuf Pathan blasted 59 in 50 balls and Zaheer Khan picked up three wickets to underpin India's two-wicket victory over South Africa in the third One-Day International in Cape Town. South Africa were bowled out for 220 after winning the toss but despite chasing under lights at Newlands being anything but easy, India got home with ten balls to spare.

Sharma And Raina Star As India Take T20 Victory

Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina played starring roles with the bat as India beat South Africa by 21 runs in the one-off Twenty20 International at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. Sharma made 53 and Raina 41 as India made 168 for six which they followed up by restricting South Africa to 147 for nine as Ashish Nehra and Yusuf Pathan bagged a brace of wickets.

New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori has praised Yusuf Pathan after the all-rounder's aggressive unbeaten century helped India move into a 4-0 One-Day International series win in Bangalore.
