After already winning a couple of matches for Toronto Nationals, it was opener Rodrigo Thomas yet again who starred with the bat. He got good support from wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klaasen and ensured that the Nationals put up a healthy total.
Thomas ended with 70 from 56 deliveries, while Klaasen remained unbeaten on 64 at a strike rate close to 190. Nikhil Dutta was the most effective bowler for Montreal Tigers and picked up one wicket while bowling at an economy of 5.75.

In reply, Montreal Tigers' chase could never really get going. There was a good partnership for the third wicket between Matthew Cross and Dinesh Chandimal but both departed for 30s and there was not much to follow.
Chris Green and Mitchell McClenaghan were the pick of the bowlers for Montreal Tigers and bagged three wickets each.
