Tridents have an almost immediate opportunity to bounce back from defeat to Trinbago Knight Riders when they take on St Lucia Zouks in game 18 of the 2016 Caribbean Premier League.

In front of their home crowd they were undone by an innings of 68 in 39 balls from Colin Munro, losing by seven wickets with 16 balls to spare.

Very little went right for them in the field, which saw them take the unusual step of replacing their wicket-keeper during the innings, with Steven Taylor taking over the gloves from Nicolas Pooran, who few would expect to start this match as a result.

They did at least put a decent score on the board and AB de Villiers now leads the way for the Tridents run-scorers in this tournament. He has hit two half-centuries in four innings and is batting at a strike rate of more than 150.

Key to St Lucia's chances will be dealing with him, Shoaib Malik and Kieron Pollard, but they have picked up the services of Jerome Taylor following his recent retirement from international cricket.

His experience could prove vital as they look to kick-start their campaign ahead of their home leg beginning in a few days time.

"I am very excited to be here. It has been a kind of a whirlwind week but what has gone down is behind me now," Taylor said.

"I am looking forward to playing for the Zouks and I am looking forward to see if I can give a good impression of myself and see if I can help the Zouks gain some victories over the next couple of weeks."

The Zouks sit at the bottom of the table - although they have, as Taylor points out, played fewer matches than the other teams in the competition.

"Zouks of all the teams have the least games played so far so we are still in good stead.

"We can’t get too disheartened too early because there is a long way to go for the Zouks.

"This game is very important because you want to go home with a win under your belts to boost the confidence somewhat."

And this could be a good chance for them to beat Tridents, who will have undoubtedly been rocked by losing to Trinbago.
