Twenty20 Cricket Returns For Sussex

Sussex Sharks begin their Twenty20 Cup campaign on Friday June 22, against Essex Eagles at Chelmsford. Twenty20 Cup cricket is now in its fifth year and should be as exciting as ever. Mark Robinson, Pro Cricket Manager, said; "We are now into the fifth year of Twenty20 Cup cricket and we are yet to qualify for Finals Day. We have had one year where our transit was curtailed by the weather and last year we had to win one of our last three games, which without Mushtaq and Goodwin, we failed to do. Logically, we had to sit down and take a new look at how we attack the game and what we do and who does it. Like most plans, they're only as good as the personnel involved and their ability to deliver. As always, the T20 games will be won by the brilliance of individuals and of the team." "The squad, as ever, is excited at the prospect of playing in front of good crowds in profile games and hopefully with some good weather. It is an exciting period now, when all we have to do for this period is to concentrate on one-day cricket. The second team is now also embarking on their one-day trophy campaign, which means the whole squad will be able to concentrate on honing the techniques best suited to one-day cricket." Sussex will name their team from the following squad: Adams CJ*, Ahmed Mushtaq, Goodwin MW, Hopkinson CD, Hodd AJ+, Kirtley RJ, Martin-Jenkins RSC, Nash CD, Rana Naved ul Hasan, Rayner OP, Smith TJ, Wright LJ, Yardy MH.
