Sri Lanka have included uncapped bowlers Dushmantha Chameera and Tharindu Kaushal in their squad to play New Zealand in a two-Test series that begins later this month.

Medium pacer Chameera and off-spinner Kaushal take their place in a squad which will head to New Zealand with a young squad expected to cope without the experience of Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara.

Dinesh Chandimal and Prasanna Jayawardene have been recalled to provide extra batting options with both quick bowlers Shaminda Eranga and Suranga Lakmal back having missed the end of the Test series against Pakistan.

Batsmen Upul Tharanga and Kithuruwan Vithanage have been dropped while Binura Fernando and Lahiru Gamage also miss out.

Rangana Herath may miss the first Test, which begins on 26th December in Christchurch, due to personal reasons.

The second Test gets underway on 2nd January in Wellington.
