Unrelenting rain washes out second ODI in Napier
New Zealand v Pakistan
Third One-Day International in Napier
Match abandoned due to rain
Persistent rain played spoilsport in Napier as the second One-Day International between New Zealand and Pakistan was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
The day started with rain delaying the toss and the forecast for the remainder of the day wasn't an encouraging one either.
With the cut-off time for a 20-over game being 19:19 local time, the umpires did schedule three inspections prior to that and eventually called off the game by 18:30 local time.
The result means that New Zealand now have an unassailble lead of 1-0 over Pakistan as they head into the third and final ODI in Auckland on 31st January.
