Usman Khan picks four as Karachi Kings finish group stage at second position
Karachi Kings 125-3 (Denly 36) beat
Islamabad United 124 (Usman 4-17) by seven wickets
30th game, Pakistan Super League, Sharjah
Usman Khan registered figures of 17 for four as Karachi Kings bowled Islamabad United for 124 and later chased down the score in 17 overs with seven wickets in hand in the 30th game of the Pakistan Super League in Sharjah.
Chasing 125, Joe Denly (36) got the team off to blistering start along with Khurram Manzoor (15) as Karachi raced to 29 for naught in the first three overs.
Steven Finn (1-21) provided the breakthrough when he trapped Manzoor LBW but Denly added another 36 run stand for the second with Babar Azam (29 not out) to lay a solid platform.
Islamabad made a brief comeback when they dismissed Denly and Eoin Morgan (2) in quick succession but Azam along with Colin Ingram (31 not out) saw them through in the chase which they completed in 17 overs with seven wickets in hand.
Earlier, only Chadwick Walton (21) and a 14-ball blistering knock Asif Ali (34) were the cornerstone of Islamabad United innings but regular strikes from Usman (4-17) and Shahid Afridi (2-18) kept them in check and were bowled out for 124 in 19 overs.
Islamabad will face Karachi Kings once again in the Qualifiers 1 game on Sunday.
