Video - Clarke Praises Australa's 'Exceptional' Attitude

As Michael Clarke picked up the Test mace as reward for leading his side to the top of the ICC Test rankings, he praised his team's 'exceptional' attitude in getting there.

Beating England 5-0 at home and overcoming South Africa 2-1 away from home helped Australia pip the Proteas to the top of the rankings by the end of April, when the rankings cycle ends.

However, Clarke now says he wants his side to meet the challenge of staying at the top, which they can do by performing well against Pakistan and India before the 2015 World Cup.

"Well I think good teams get to number one in any sport, great teams stay there," Clarke said.

"That's our challenge now - to find a way to continue to get better. I think the attitude of the players so far on this.... this camp has shown that we believe we can get better in all areas of the game.

"We've got some great support around us in regards to, coaching staff, facilities here, people willing to help us improve and I think the players' attitudes to trying to get better has been exceptional."
