Round seven of the Virtual County Championship between Kent and Essex is being held by Cricket World and Dice Cricket to help the fans stay tuned to cricketing action from the comforts of their home amid the Covid-19 outbreak.

Kent's troubles don't seem to be ending after they lost their last match against Yorkshire by 6 wickets. The team is still placed right at the bottom of the virtual County Championship with just one win and four losses from five matches. The team has 39 points and will have to course correct immediately in order to have a shot at reaching anywhere close to the top of the Championship.

Kent posted a decent total of 220 in their first innings against Yorkshire with a 40 from Darren Stevens but despite the efforts of Matt Milnes who took four wickets in the second essay, they allowed Yorkshire a big lead.

It did not help that the team was bowled out for just 176. Apart from the half-century from Daniel Bell-Drummond, there was not much to write home about. Milnes bagged another two wickets in the last innings but it could not help much as Kent had to contend with four points from the game.

They will clash against Essex who are doing decently well with three wins and two losses from five matches. The team is placed at the sixth spot in the division 1 virtual County Championship with 70 points.

Essex registered a 55-run victory in their round 6 match against Hampshire. Daniel Lawrence scored a half-century for them in the first innings while Nick Browne came good with a century in the second one.

Matthew Quinn took four wickets for the team in the first innings. It was Sam Cook's fifer in the last essay which took the team home.

Let's have a look at the probable playing XI of both teams:

Essex - Nick Browne, Sir Alastair Cook, Tom Westley, Daniel Lawrence, Michael Pepper, Ryan ten Doeschate, Simon Harmer, Jamie Porter, Sam Cook, Peter Siddle, Matthew Quinn

Kent - Sam Billings, Zak Crawley, Joe Denly, Daniel Bell-Drummond, Heino Kuhn, Alex Blake, Ollie Robinson, Darren Stevens, Harry Podmore, Tim Groenewald, Matt Milnes
