Virtual Cricket County Championship: Round 2 Division 1 Round Up – News, Scores and Updates
Here are all the latest News , Scores and Updates from Round 2 Day 1 of the Virtual Cricket County Championship Division 1
Virtual County Championship - DIVISION ONE
Essex v Yorkshire - The Cloudfm County Ground, Chelmsford
Essex 189 (S Cook 61, Coad 3/33)
Yorkshire 138/5 (Kohler Cadmore 41*, Porter 4/47)
Div1 #EssvYor Day 1: A disastrous start to the match left Essex struggling on 100/8 with Ben Coad doing some damage. Thanks to S Cook (61) and Peter Siddle (22) the score was pushed up nearer to 200 although this left Essex already a long way behind in the match. Yorkshire were not without blame in the careless batting department as they ended the day on 138/5 with Kohler-Cadmore not out on 41 and Joe Porter doing the business for Essex with all five wickets.
Gloucestershire v Lancashire - The Bristol County Ground, Bristol
Gloucestershire 282ao (Dent 98, Bailey 6/92)
Lancashire 65/2 (Livingstone 42*, Drissell 1/28)
Div1 #GlovLanc Day 1: Gloucester captain Chris Dent fell 2 short of what would have been a well made 100 out of his side's 282ao. Tom Bailey ripped the heart out of the Gloucestershire batting with 6/92. Liam Livingstone saw out the day on 42* to leave Lancashire on 65/2.
Hampshire v Kent - The Ageas Bowl, Southampton
Hampshire 262ao (Alsop 59, Milnes 6/75
Kent 54/3 (Khun 31*, Stevenson 2/35)
Div1 #HamvKen Day 1: Matt Milnes was all but unplayable as he ripped through the Hampshire top order to record figures of 6/75. Apart from a profitable partnership between Alsop (59) and Barker (56), Hampshire struggled to 262ao. In reply, Kent were grateful for the close of play after 2 late Edwards wickets left them on 54/3.
Surrey v Somerset – The Kia Oval, London
Surrey 290ao (Jacks 68, Bess 5/65)
Somerset 41/0 (Davies 20*)
Div1 #SurvSom Day 1: Most Surrey batters make starts with Ollie Pope (50) and Will Jacks (68) looking good but failing to capitalise. Liam Plunkett (48) slapped a few to get Surrey to a respectable 1st innings score. Somerset spinner Dom Bess enjoyed some early turn off the surface, recording figures of 5/65. In the brief reply, Davies (20*) looks in ominous form for tomorrow.
Warwickshire v Northamptonshire - Edgbaston, Birmingham
Warks 237ao (Ambrose 54, Ashraf 4/64)
Northants 78/7 (Wakely 17, Hannon-Dalby 4/32)
Div1 #WarvNor Day 1: A shaky start from Warwickshire saw Northants well on top with the top order splintered at the hands of Ashraf (4/64) & Buck (3/70). A fine partnership of level headed experience between Ambrose (54) & Woakes (34) helped with some big hitting from Brookes (56) saw Warwickshire to a competitive total. Northants had no answer for Hannon Dalby, whose 4/32 leave Northants struggling.
