There were early finishes on Day 3 in all of the Division 2 in the Virtual Cricket County Championship: Leicestershire beat Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire beat Durham and Middlesex beat Glamorgan.

 

Virtual County Championship - DIVISION TWO

 

Derbyshire v Leicestershire - The Pattonair County Ground, Derby

Match Summary

Leicestershire 274 (Azad 45, Palladino 4/72, Hudson-Prentice 3/59) &158/5 (Azad 46)

Result – Leicestershire won by 5 wickets

Points – Leicestershire (21), Derbyshire (4)

Div 2 #DervLeics Day 3 Tom Taylor returned to his former employers and dominated with the ball taking 5/91 today, his control of length was perfect for the wicket and perfect for setting up this win with a day to spare for the visitors.

Azad (46) top scored again to give Leicestershire their 2nd win of the season already.

 

Durham v Nottinghamshire - Emirates Riverside, Chester-le-Street

Match Summary

Nottinghamshire 340/9dec (Clarke 131, Slater 56, Raine 5/107) & 84/3 (Hameed 54*)

Result – Nottinghamshire won by 7 wickets

Div 2 #DurvNotts Day 3 Stuart Broad's magnificent display of aggressive seam bowling tore Durham apart today. Already with 3 wickets to his name he produced 3 more in 4 balls to finish with 7/58 which set up the victory for the visitors. They finished the job with a day to spare thanks to Hameed (54*) completing a very comprehensive win here to really get their season going.

 

 

Glamorgan v Middlesex - Sophia Gardens Cardiff, Cardiff

Match Summary

Result – Middlesex won by an innings and 51 runs

Points – Middlesex 22,  Glamorgan 2

 

Div 2 #GlamvMidd Day 3 Middlesex completed the relatively straight forward task of gaining the final 3 wickets. They did so by lunch (a full 5 sessions early) winning by an innings &51 runs and in doing so they earned 22 points to take back along the M4 home.
