Warwickshire 175-9 (Pollock 50) beat
Glamorgan 164 (Rudolph 65) by 11 runs
First semi-final, Natwest T20 Blast, Edgbaston

Ed Pollock scored a blistering fifty while Chris Woakes and Olly Stone picked three wickets apiece as Warwickshire completed an 11 run victory in the first semi-final of the Natwest T20 Blast at Edgbaston.

Glamorgan won the toss and opted to bowl first. Pollock (50) started the innings positively and went on to complete a 23 ball half-century but fell in the final over of the powerplay during which Warwickshire were 64 for one.

The innings lost momentum following a double strike from Craig Meschede (2-24) as Warwickshire were reduced to 93 for four at the start of the 11th over before the New Zealand duo of Grant Elliott (32) and Colin de Grandhomme (30) helped them recover a bit and post 175 for nine in the 20 overs.

Glamorgan got off to worst possible start and were soon reduced to 67 for five in the ninth over with only Jacques Rudolph (65) managing to show some resilience.

Rudolph's 50 came off 30 deliveries but was run out in the 15th over by the end of which Glamorgan needed 58 more runs. Despite, best efforts from Andrew Salter (27) and Marchant de Lange (16), Glamorgan fell 12 runs short off the target.

Hampshire now take on Nottinghamshire in the second semi-final of the tournament at the same venue.
