Warwickshire 159-4 (Bell 47) beat
Nottinghamshire 158-6 (Patel 55) by six wickets
Natwest T20 Blast, North Group, Birmingham

Rikki Clarke played a responsible innings as he steered Warwickshire to a 159 run chase off the final delivery against Nottinghamshire in their Natwest T20 Blast North Group encounter in Birmingham.

Warwickshire opted to bowl first on winning the toss. Jeetan Patel (4-22) picked three wickets in his first two to leave Nottinghamshire reeling at 28 for three.

Samit Patel (55) injected some momentum into Nottinghamshire's innings and added 51 run stand with Daniel Christian (20) and another 68 with Steven Mullaney (46) to take the score to 158 for six in the 20 overs. Jeetan was the pick of the Warwickshire bowlers with a four wicket haul.

Sam Hain (17) started the innings positively but was dismissed by Harry Gurney (1-29) in the fifth over. Nottinghamshire suffered a setback when Luke Fletcher (0-0) left the field after being hit on the head with the first delivery he bowled.

Knocks from William Porterfield (20) and Grant Elliott (38) kept Warwickshire in the hunt but in the end it needed a calm innings from Clarke (24 not out) to help Warwickshire complete the chase off the final delivery. Jeetan was awarded the player of the match for setting the win with the four wicket haul.
