Search sponsored Sale couldn’t escape a near washout across the county on Saturday with neither the 1st XI at Stockport nor the 2nd XI at home to Brooklands able to start their games due to heavy rain, all sides settling for 7 points each.

The washout settled any remaining promotion and relegation issues within the Vivio Cheshire County league with one game to go.  The 1st XI look set to finish mid table in division one, a creditable performance after a poor start.  Any outside chance of promotion to the premier division for the 2nd XI ended as they cannot now catch second placed Upton.

Of the Sunday teams the 3rd XI stay in the premier division by the smallest of margins after 2nd bottom Oxton beat Champions Didsbury to finish just one point behind Sale.  The 4th XI, the academy team for younger players (and a few older ones too), finished mid table in division two east.

In the final round of matches next Saturday the 1st XI visit Bowdon and the 2nd XI play the reverse fixture at Dane Road.
