Weather continues to play spoilsport in Mirpur
Bangladesh 246-8 (Rahim 65) v South Africa
Second Test, Mirpur, day three
There was more frustration in store for players as well as for the fans when even day three of the second Test between South Africa and Bangladesh at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur was called off due to rain.
Rain had abated midway through the day and the game was poised to start with about 45 overs scheduled before stumps.
However, just when play looked possible, rain came tumbling down yet again, making it virtually impossible to get any game at all.
While 88.1 overs were bowled on day one with Bangladesh on 246 for eight, day two had been called off as well, due to bad weather.
This is definitely bad news for a series where the previous Test had ended in a tame draw after the last two days were interrupted by bad weather.
