A brilliant 142 run 2nd wicket partnership between Devon Conway (105*) and wicket keeper Tom Blundell (79) set up a formidable score of 221-3 for Wellington, off their 20 overs.
In reply, Otago fell just 11 runs short in the run chase - Neil Broom (65), Hamish Rutherford (44) and Brad Wilson (32*) all contributing and Rachin Ravindra (3-32) the pick of the bowlers for Wellington.
