West Indies Bowl Australia Out For 225 In Sydney

Australia 225 (Clarke 46, Rampaul 4-61) v West Indies
Third One-Day International, Sydney

Ravi Rampaul took four wickets as the West Indies bowled Australia out for 225 in the third One-Day International at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

A rain interruptions then reduced the tourists' target to 154 in 24 overs before the rain returned after just one ball, forcing a further stoppage.

Changes to the West Indian line-up after two heavy defeats brought rewards with Rampaul and fellow opening bowler Dwayne Smith sharing seven wickets with Darren Sammy taking two for 46.

Australia also made changes, Tim Paine (16) and Adam Voges (8) forming an all-new opening pair but failing to give the side the sort of starts they have been used to with Shane Watson and Shaun Marsh at the top of the order and that put pressure on the middle order.

Ricky Ponting (22), Michael Clarke (46), Cameron White (17), Michael Hussey (44) and James Hopes (30) all made reasonable contributions, but none could go on and register a half-century, credit to an improved West Indian display in the field, Kieron Pollard the other man to get a wicket when he had future Somerset team-mate White caught behind by Denesh Ramdin.

Ryan Harris then thumped 21 in nine balls as Australia enjoyed a late flurry of boundaries.
