West Indies and Pakistan will aim for an automatic qualification in the 2019 World Cup tournament as they lock horns with each other in a three-match One-Day International series.

The 2019 edition of the mega event will see the host England and seven other top ranked teams in the International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI Rankings with a cut off date of 30th September gain an automatic qualification while the remaining teams will lock horns in a qualifier for the remaining two places.

West Indies are currently positioned ninth with 84 points - five behind the eighth placed Pakistan. A 3-0 series win for West Indies will see them level Pakistan with 87 points, but on the contrary if the visitors claim the series 3-0, they will level the seventh placed Bangladesh with 92 points.

A 2-1 series win for West Indies will see them retained at ninth position but would have reduced the gap against Pakistan to three points. On the other hand, 2-1 series win for the visitors will see Sarfraz Ahmed's men rise to 90 points while West Indies will slip to 83 points.

The three match series will be played in Guyana on 7th, 9th and 11th April.
