Remarkable Village Cricket Grounds by Brian Wilson
Can be Purchased on Amazon (RRP £25.00)
Cricket, like no other sport, is woven into the landscape of the British Isles. It is resolutely embedded in the villages and rural outposts, hewn into the upland hillsides and planted firmly on the lawns of great country estates.
Remarkable Village Cricket Grounds is a compendium of some of the most breathtaking and singular village cricket grounds in England, Scotland and Wales.
Including over 90 grounds from England, Scotland and Wales, this collection showcases some of the most beautiful places where cricket has been played – in some cases for over 300 years. With few exceptions the grounds are run by a dedicated band of enthusiasts who are keeping pavilions painted, boundaries marked and the grassroots of the sport alive, in every meaning of the word.
Brian Levison has a lifelong interest in cricket and played club cricket for several years. His most recent book Remarkable Cricket Grounds was shortlisted for the Sports Book of the Year ‘Illustrated Books category’ award and the Cricket Writers’ Club Book of the Year award in 2017.
The Prize Draw will take place on 16th December 2018 and the lucky winners will be notified by email.
