The teams will come up against each other in a double round-robin format. The group stage will be followed by the Eliminator at the DY Patil Stadium, and the final at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
All the players have already arrived in Mumbai where this year's tournament will be held entirely due to the small gap between this year's T20 World Cup and the inaugural edition of the WPL.
All five teams have announced their respective captains and are ready to get on the park in what is touted to be a game-changing competition for female cricketers all around the globe.
Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians will take on each other in the curtain raiser with captains Beth Mooney and Harmanpreet Kaur all set to take forward the rivalry which was sparked once again in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup recently.
