Today’s Semi Final between Worcestershire and Kent is going to be an exciting contest pitting two of the best batting line-ups against each other.
Callum Ferguson, the newly appointed Worcestershire Rapids skipper, in the absence of Joe Leach who is out injured with a stress fracture to his back, who has appeared in the Big Bash for Adelaide Strikers, Melbourne Renegades and Sydney Thunder, is in great form. For Kent, Daniel Bell-Drummond, Joe Denly (c), Heino Kuhn and Sean Dickson have also been outstanding in the Royal London One Day Cup this season as well.
This match may well be decided with the ball and Kent's Darren Stevens and Matt Henry will be the ones to watch here.
Worcestershire Rapids: Clarke, Ferguson (c), D’Oliveira, Mitchell, Fell, Cox (w), Whiteley, Barnard, Rhodes, Morris, Pennington, Brown, Finch
Kent Spitfires: Number 23 Daniel Bell-Drummond, 6 Joe Denly (c), 4 Heino Kuhn, 58 Sean Dickson, 10 Alex Blake, 3 Darren Stevens, 42 Will Gidman, 12 Adam Rouse (wk), 25 Calum Haggett, 24 Matt Henry, 1 Harry Podmore, 8 Mitch Claydon, 11 Imran Qayyum, 33 Adam Riley
The bookies have Kent favourites to win this one and I agree with this. Worcestershire are missing Moeen Ali, who is on England duty, and he was a key part of the squad along with the injured Joe Leach. So a win for Kent today. Most runs – Heino Kuhn if Kent bat first (or second). Most wickets – Darren Stevens or Matt Henry.
