The best players from around the world have arrived in the rebel WBBL Village in Sydney Olympic Park ahead of Sunday’s opening rebel WBBL|06 matches.

More than 250 players, staff and families will spend the next five weeks inside the Village with the entire 59-game season to be played in Sydney.

Eight matches will be played across North Sydney Oval and Hurstville Oval this Sunday and Monday, highlighted by a Sunday double-header on the Seven Network, Fox Cricket and Kayo Sports (opening round fixture below).

The rebel WBBL is the world’s leading women’s domestic cricket league with more than 20 international players and staff joining the best talent from around Australia. More rebel WBBL games will be broadcast this season than ever before – a year-on-year increase of 57% - building on the success of the first-ever standalone tournament in 2019-20.

Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia’s Head of Big Bash Leagues, said:

“The build up to rebel WBBL|06 has been massive in every sense of the word. Not only are there high expectations for this season off the back of the biggest ever year for the women’s game, but so much work has gone in from everyone across Australian Cricket to make the Village and League a success.”

“I’d like to thank all the players and staff from our clubs who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to getting this season off the ground, in particular everyone from the Sydney Sixers, Sydney Thunder and Cricket NSW as our hosts in Sydney.

“We encourage our fans in Sydney to come along to the ground and for everyone around the country, to tune in on Seven, Fox Cricket, Kayo, cricket.com.au, the CA Live app and ABC Radio from this Sunday.”

Gary Williams, rebel’s Managing Director, said:

““Rebel is delighted to, once again, support the Women’s Big Bash League as it heads into its sixth season under very different circumstances.

“We are incredibly proud to support Australia’s best female athletes. The rebel WBBL sets a high benchmark both on and off the field.

“We’re also happy to have supported the fit-out of the rebel WBBL Village with the rebel lounge, providing the team with a place to relax, unwind and have a bit of fun.

“We wish all the players and staff involved in the rebel WBBL|06 season the best of luck and we look forward to tuning in from this Sunday.”
