
WPL 2023 Match 10: The winning Mumbai Indians juggernaut continues against UP Warriorz
Mumbai Indians raced to their fourth straight win in as many games in the Women's Premier League as they beat UP Warriorz by eight wickets at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.
After opting to bat, UP made 159 for six in their 20 overs and Mumbai Indians chased down the target in 17.3 overs to finish on 164 for two.
Earlier, UP was well served by a 50 run second wicket stand between captain Alyssa Healy and Kiran Navgire. Then Healy teamed up with Tahlia McGrath to add 82 runs for the third wicket. Healy ended on 58 off 46 balls with seven boundaries and a six. Later, UP lost wickets in a heap as they slipped to 159 for six in their 20 overs. McGrath finished on 50 off 37 balls with nine boundaries. For Mumbai the best bowlers were Saika Ishaque (3-33) and Amelia Kerr (2-33).
In their response Mumbai started off well with their openers Yastika Bhatia and Hayley Matthews adding 58. Bhatia finished on 42 off 27 balls with eight boundaries and a six. Nat Sciver-Brunt and captain Harmanpreet Kaur then got together to add 106 runs for the third wicket. Sciver-Brunt ended unbeaten on 45 off 31 balls with six boundaries and a six. Kaur on the other hand remained unbeaten on 53 off 33 balls with nine boundaries and a six. Mumbai chased down the target in 164 for two in 17.3 overs.
