Brisbane Heat have confirmed the signing of Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah as a replacement player for the upcoming season of Big Bash League.

The franchise has already acquired the services of Shadab Khan and Yasir will replace his Pakistan team-mate when the 19-year-old leaves for international commitment.

Brisbane Heat head coach Daniel Vettori confirmed the news on Yasir's signing and is confident that his experience will prove handy when Shadab is unavailable.

"Having Yasir agree to join us as a replacement player means that we can plan for the series with some certainty,'' said Vettori.

"Shadab Khan has been going from strength to strength for Pakistan since signing with us and there is the possibility he could be required for international duty during the BBL.

"Having an experienced 'like for like' player such as Yasir to call upon means we can hopefully have continuity with our playing plans."

Even though Yasir does not feature in limited overs plan for Pakistan, he has an impressive record of 60 wickets from 74 T20s at an economy of 6.72.

Brisbane Heat will take on Melbourne Stars at The Gabba in the opening game of the Big Bash League on 20th December.
