Yorkshire unveil 2022 playing shirts
Yorkshire County Cricket Club is delighted to unveil this year’s playing shirts with new kit supplier Kukri Sports.
The new Vitality Blast kit, as worn by Yorkshire and Northern Diamonds bowler Rachel Slater, will be available to purchase from the Club Shop in the coming weeks, as will this season’s Royal London One Day Cup shirt and LV= County Championship shirt worn by Jordan Thompson and Harry Duke respectively.
The LV= County Championship shirt will again display the NIC Services Group Limited logo on the front, with Vertu Motors featuring on the sleeves and back of all three kits. Yorkshire Vikings’ kits will also proudly display new sponsor Seat Unique’s logo on their front of both shirts.
Hayley Yates, Designer at Kukri Sports: “The inspiration behind the designs for Yorkshire Cricket came from the iconic Headingley stadium and the Carnegie Pavilion. The bold, geometric style of the stand and tonal shades of one colour translate well into the product. We used angular lines and transparencies reminiscent of the glass triangles to overlay shades of blue, creating a range of abstract designs. Subtle inclusion of the yellow shade from the Vikings logo add an extra pop of colour.”
John Spencer, Group Chairman at NIC Services Group LTD said: “We were deeply troubled to hear what had happened at Yorkshire County Cricket Club and do not condone discrimination in all its forms. We are, however, hopeful for the future and want to support the positive change at Headingley to ensure that cricket is a game for everyone.”
A spokesperson for Vertu Motors said: “Over recent months we have been in regular dialogue with the club and we were delighted to see that structural changes required were overwhelmingly approved. To that end, we are increasingly confident that under the direction of Lord Patel and Darren Gough, the club is at the start of a rebuilding process to be a fully inclusive organisation, with the necessary measures in place. We look forward to working together again over the course of the season.”
Robin Sherry, CEO and Founder of Seat Unique said:* “We are consistently working to expand our premium ticket and hospitality offering, in order to make even more luxury experiences accessible to fans. In partnering with Yorkshire Cricket, its supporters will be able to book once in a lifetime experiences at their favourite events 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
“We are excited to work with Yorkshire Cricket in what is a new chapter for the Club, and we look forward to supporters using our platform.”
The Northern Diamonds’ new kit will be unveiled in the coming weeks and available to purchase from the Club Shop.
