Essex 234 (Adam Wheater 78; Steven Patterson 4-36)
Result - Yorkshire won by 25 runs
Yorkshire were in some trouble at 45-4 due to some excellent bowling from Essex pacer Jamie Porter 3-25, who got both the Yorkshire openers cheaply, Tom Kohler-Cadmore for 0 and Adam Lyth for 20.
A spirited 91 from Gary Ballance supported by Jack Leaning 57, Tim Bresnan 41 and Matt Fisher 35* at the end, helped Yorkshire to a total of 259-7.
In reply, Essex were undone in the main by Yorkshire captain, Steven Patterson, who bowled his 10 overs taking 4-36. Adam Wheater 78 and Neil Wagner 35 got Essex close but it was just not enough and Yorkshire won by 25 runs.
