Baroda Cricket Association XI 234-7 (Pathan 106) beat
Kenya 188 (Kamande 60, Swapnil Singh 5-34) by 46 runs
Yusuf Pathan blasted a boundary-filled 106 in 60 balls as the Baroda Cricket Association XI beat Kenya by 46 runs in the opening match of a tri-series also involving Gujarat in Nairobi.
After the match was reduced to 35 overs before play began, Pathan hammered 12 fours and seven sixes to help his side to a winning score of 234 for seven with captain Pinal Shah hitting 43 and Swapnil Singh 25.
Leg-spinner Swapnil then returned five for 34 as Kenya were dismissed for a disappointing 188, despite Jimmy Kamande's 60 and Rakep Patel's 44.
Although the top five batsmen all made starts, the others all failed to reach double figures as Swapnil broke through to hand Kenya a comprehensive defeat.
Kenya play the Gujarat Cricket Association XI on Thursday (29th July).
